Are you are car guy or car gal? Do you own a classic or exotic car? Is it properly insured? Unfortunately there
are a lot of really nice classics out on the road today that are insured on a common personal lines auto policy. Why
is that such a bad thing you ask? When that vehicle is damaged the owner will be paid the actual cash value (ACV)
of their vehicle. So that beautiful Camaro or Mustang will be valued as a standard old 1969 Chevy or Ford.
Never mind that it may be a big block SS Yenko Camaro or a Boss 429.
We highly encourage owners of "babies" get them insured the correct way. Contact us for a quote with Hagerty or
one of the other many classic car insurers we represent. Having your baby insured with an "Agreed Value" policy
takes all the guess work and worrying out of the equation if there is a claim. Classic car policies often provide
additional optional coverages that may not be available on a standard auto policy.
If you happen to be a client of State Farm and you are in Texas, don't be fooled. The "Classic Car" coverage from
State Farm is not applicable in the state of Texas. Don't take our word for it though. Click on the link below to go to
the State Farm website. Be sure to read the entire page including that part that says "**Not applicable in Massachusetts,
North Carolina, and Texas". https://www.statefarm.com/insurance/auto/antique-classic-cars
As always, we appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
